The Virtual Beer

virtual-beer

When you can’t meet with clients and colleagues face to face, nothing stops you from meeting in the virtual world to have a virtual beer or another drink.

Here’s how:

    • Design a fun invite email with some visuals – borrow from Google Images.
    • Send the email with proposed times, a link to a virtual connection and a theme for the conversation – eg “The merits of beer vs wine” / “Best snacks for remote chats”.
    • Get it in the diary for 5ish, a similar time that you would have set in the “real world”.

As everybody logs on, ensure you share how to use the options provided by your chosen virtual tool as it can still be new for people. Then get the conversation started by throwing in a question that will engage people – consider: “What beer have you chosen and why?” Or “What glass shape do you prefer?” Or something similar.

A quick 30 minutes ‘virtual drink’ will get everybody connected and in high spirits before switching off for the day and moving back to the non-work life somewhere else in the house.
